The Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute's STAR-Lite Training condenses the multi-day, evidence-based trauma awareness and resilience training, STAR, into a single-day. It is a good option for those who wish to learn the basics of becoming trauma-informed, resilience-oriented, and restorative justice-focused, yet can’t commit a lot of time. We encourage all students to come participate in this free training.

In this training, you will:

  • Identify and practice tools and strategies to strengthen resilience and break free from cycles of violence at personal and collective levels.
  • Understand how trauma responses can contribute to cycles of violence at different levels: self, relationships, organizations, communities, nations and the Earth.
  • Deepen your commitment to self-care and collective care.
  • Learn how to define resilience and trauma, causes/origins, diverse impacts on body, brain, beliefs and behaviors.

“Most people want to build peace into their lives and neighborhoods. STAR-Lite allows you to understand psychological trauma and move toward building peace within your spheres of influence.”
