students at gov officeStudent leaders from groups representing all of Minnesota's public colleges and universities signed a letter to Governor Walz urging him to make a $1 billion investment in higher education this legislative session. Over the last two decades, Minnesota has invested 21.7% less per student and this has sent tuition rates skyrocketing.

"Due to the increased cost of attending college, students face many barriers that hinder their success and ability to attend. These barriers include, but are not limited to, housing and food insecurity, working long hours and multiple jobs, mental health, and financial resources. These issues directly impact students' retention rates and success in and out of the classroom."
