With the major need for colleges and universities to provide more focus on basic needs like hunger and housing insecurity, LeadMN has proposed to the Minnesota State Ad-hoc Basic Needs Committee a new system wide basic needs policy that would require colleges to implement a variety of best practices to support students. This policy proposal is a major first step in creating comprehensive supports at every college, and if adopted would be one the first system wide basic needs policy in the country.
