Philip Krzyszton grew up in rural Wisconsin and developed a love of aviation early on when a neighboring farmer shared his passion for planes. He decided to attend Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls because of their Aviation Maintenance Technology program, and has been pursuing that degree alongside continuing his pilot training.

Philip decided to get involved with the student senate at Northland to make an impact and serve his campus community. He has advocated for increased hours for campus resources like the recreation center, worked with campus administration on modernizing advertisement, and is in the process of refinancing the student life budget to better fit students as a whole.

"Receiving this scholarship not only helps out financially, but also mentally. The motivation from knowing that the path I'm on is worth the investment from others carries so much value that I can't even explain! Thank you, LeadMN!"

Philip plans to transfer to the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh to finish his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance Management. He then hopes to be a commercial pilot and run a vintage plane restoration shop on the side. Congratulations on your accomplishments, Philip!
