LeadMN uses Robert’s Rules of Order to conduct business. It can be a bit confusing at first, but following these rules is essential to making our meetings timely, professional, and fair. The best way to learn procedure is to practice! We encourage you to try it out on a smaller scale at your Student Senate or regional meetings. The best piece of advice we can give you is this: ask questions! If you have an idea or want to say something but aren’t sure of the right way to do it according to the rules, ask someone. We are always willing to help. At our larger meetings, such as the General Assemblies, we will have a "Parli Table" staffed with the experts in case you need assistance.
