TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.

I started my college career at Century Community College pursuing my Associate's degree. I quickly took a liking to my political science classes and was chosen out of all students to work as a Legislative Intern at the Minnesota State Senate. My passion for advocacy started to grow and I transferred to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to work toward my Bachelor's degree in political science. I worked as an intern at the Minnesota State House and eventually went on to graduate in 2020. Since then, I have worked on three political campaigns as a Field Coordinator and Campaign Manager.

WHAT INTERESTED YOU IN LEADMN AND WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING ON?

My background in organizing and experience at Century College and personal and professional aspirations align well with LeadMN's mission of breaking down systemic barriers and uplifting and empowering Minnesota's two-year college students.

What I'm most excited about right now is getting out in the field! Organizing during a pandemic can sometimes feel isolating and it's really important for me to make and keep connections. Once I become acclimated, I'm looking forward to collaborating with my coworkers and brainstorming new organizing tactics!

WHAT INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF WORK?

My partner and I have a seven month old puppy that currently takes up a lot of our time. We love bringing her for long walks and out to play fetch, her favorite activity! Beyond that, I enjoy game nights with friends, doing makeup (both creatively and editorial), spending time with my niece and nephew, drinking coffee, and roller blading when the weather is fit. I like to keep busy, try different things, and meet new people!
