Our PRC Ali Tomashek testified in front of the House Taxes Committee on changes to the student loan tax credit.
HF 3072 modifies the Minnesota student loan credit, increasing the maximum credit to $5,000 and making the credit refundable. It also modifies the income-based phaseout and earned income limitations. These changes would make over 132,000 new individuals eligible with average credit being around $1,800, in addition to the roughly 50,000 Minnesotans who benefitted from the current student loan tax credit.
