Sudi Adow
LeadMN President
Rochester Community & Technical College
Sudi Adow is the current Board President of LeadMN, representing over 100,000 community and technical college students across Minnesota. She is a business transfer at Rochester Community and Technical College and hopes to continue her education at a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s in Economics. She also serves in student government and participates actively in campus life, including the art club and her school newspaper.
As a first-generation Somali woman and student leader, Sudi has dedicated herself to advocacy, working to ensure the voices of underrepresented people in her community are heard. Her leadership experience includes serving in her college’s student senate and committees, volunteering at her mosque as well as with organizations such as the Pamoja Women’s Foundation, which supports African women and their families to overcome barriers, and ICNA, to deliver meal kits to muslims in her community with food insecurity during Ramadan. She has also consistently earned recognition for her academic excellence, making her school’s High Academic Achievement and President’s List.
Sudi was drawn to LeadMN because of its mission to empower students and create meaningful change. She believes in the power of collective action and wants to use her role to advocate for accessibility, equity, and opportunity for all Minnesota students. Outside of academics and leadership, she enjoys reading, pottery, and exploring obscure topics for research papers.
