Morrie Anderson Endowed Scholarship

Upon Morris J. Anderson’s retirement as Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Mr. Anderson’s colleagues and friends established an endowed fund to recognize his outstanding contribution to education in Minnesota, especially his support of technical education. This scholarship was created to provide scholarship support to students enrolled in a technical program at one of the technical or consolidated colleges within Minnesota State.

This scholarship awards one $500 scholarship each semester. Applications for the fall semester open January 1st and close April 1st at 11:59pm. Applications for the spring semester open July 1st and close November 1st at 11:59pm. 

Scholarship Qualifications

  • Be an Undergraduate student enrolled in a technical program at one of the technical or consolidated colleges within Minnesota State
  • Have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Preference will be given to students with financial need

Scholarship Requirements

  • Complete and submit the online application by April 1 at 11:59 PM for fall semester or by November 1 at 11:59 PM for spring semester. 
  • Submit a letter of application/personal letter. In this letter describe your:
    • Academic goals
    • Career goals
    • Personal goals
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from a campus, community, or organization leader
  • Submit a separate statement of need (describe why you need this scholarship)
  • Submit a copy of your school unofficial transcript
