LawHelpMN.org: Law Help MN is an interactive guide to help Minnesota’s find free legal resources based on topics or need.

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid: Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid advocates for the legal rights of disadvantaged people to have safe, healthy, and independent lives in strong communities.

Volunteer Lawyers Network: Volunteer Lawyers Network, Ltd. (VLN) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides civil legal services to low-income Minnesotans through volunteer attorneys. VLN’s mission is to protect and promote the basic human needs of people in poverty through the power of legal volunteers.

SOUTHERN MINNESOTA RESOURCES

Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services: SMRLS provides a full range of high quality legal services to low-income persons and eligible client groups in civil matters, in a respectful manner. SMRLS currently serves the 33 counties of southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities’ east and south metro, as well as agricultural workers throughout Minnesota and North Dakota

STATEWIDE RESOURCES

Minnesota Judicial Branch (Court Forms and How to’s): Guides navigating the legal system and Family Court matters like domestic and family relationships, like adoption, divorce, child custody, and child support.

CENTRAL MINNESOTA RESOURCES

Hennepin County Domestic Abuse Service Center: DACS provides culturally specific and trauma informed services to those in Hennepin County. Central Minnesota Legal Services provides pro bono legal consultation and representation to individuals at DASC. Referrals for legal consultation are made by an advocate.

SOUTHERN MINNESOTA RESOURCES

Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services: SMRLS can provide help with protection orders, divorces, custody matters, or Indian Child Welfare Act cases. Their family law work focuses on preserving stability for children and protecting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking for those in the 33 counties of southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities’ east and south metro, as well as agricultural workers throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.St

Standpoint: Resources, advocacy, and direct services to victims/survivors of non–intimate-partner sexual violence, who live in or have a legal issue in Ramsey County, provided in partnership with Sexual Violence Services of Ramsey County (SOS).

NORTHERN MINNESOTA RESOURCES

Justice North: Justice North provides representation, limited services, advice, or information to individuals with issues that fall outside of the criminal justice system, including providing pro-bono legal services.

CENTRAL MINNESOTA RESOURCES

Central Minnesota Legal Services : CMLS handles civil legal matters for low income people in 21 counties in central Minnesota.  We do not handle criminal problems. We refer clients when our staff is unable to handle a case. We make referrals to self-help and volunteer resources.

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid: Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid advocates for the legal rights of disadvantaged people and provides legal assistance to low-income people living in 20 Central Minnesota counties, and seniors in 26 Central Minnesota counties.

IMMIGRATION RESOURCES

Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota: The ILCM is a nonprofit organization that provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in Minnesota and North Dakota. ILCM also works to educate the community about immigration matters and advocates for public policies which respect the universal human rights of immigrants.
