Luana Cristina Stumm is a dedicated and engaged international student at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota, pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. A native of Brazil, she brings a rich academic background, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Education, a graduate degree in Management and Business, and a Master’s degree in Development and Public Policy. At Ridgewater College, Luana has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning a place on the Dean’s List for both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, as well as receiving competitive scholarship awards. Her dedication to learning is matched by her commitment to leadership and service.

Luana’s professional background includes more than a decade of experience in the Brazilian public sector, particularly in legislative and community engagement roles, complemented by work in education, housing, and financial services. This experience has strengthened her ability to navigate diverse perspectives, build consensus, and advocate effectively for others.

She became involved with LeadMN because she believes in the transformative power of student advocacy. Leading by serving others is at the core of her values, and she is passionate about advancing equity in higher education, supporting diverse and international students, and fostering inclusive environments where all learners can thrive.

Outside her academic and leadership roles, Luana enjoys exploring new cultures, hiking through nature, and volunteering in her community. Her unique combination of professional expertise, academic achievement, and deep empathy fuels her commitment to representing and empowering students across Minnesota’s colleges.
