Karina Wallenta attends Ridgewater College in Willmar and is pursuing a degree in Special Education. Karina has been involved in the Student Senate at her college and is currently the Student Senate President. Karina also serves as a member of the Technology Committee at her campus. Karina graduated from Buffalo High School in the Spring 2023 and received a local scholarship as well a Ridgewater scholarship to continue her education.

Karina first became interested in Governing Council to be a leader and a voice for students both at her college and in her region. Karina believes that student representation is valuable and that the Governing Council is a great opportunity for students all across the state to be represented and connect with each other. As a member of Governing Council, Karina has learned the importance of advocating for students, becoming a voice on her campus and she has grown overall as a leader.

Karina is the youngest of three daughters and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Karina prioritizes mental health and self care by enjoying a quiet evening reading a book. In her free time, Karina enjoys reading, coloring, painting, and music.
