How many students can go? There are 40 slots for students from Minnesota. The registration process is administered by Today’s Student Coalition and they do not put any limits on the number of students who can come from any specific campus or region. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.
How do students get there? Each campus is responsible for getting their students to DC for the Summit. You can select the best travel option available for your students. LeadMN staff will coordinate with advisors after registrations are complete to determine the best way to get all Minnesota students together Saturday night before the Summit begins Sunday morning.
What about the hotel? There is a block of rooms reserved at the Residence Inn at One Dupont Circle. The nightly rate is $239. You will be able to book rooms through a link after you complete the registration process. The link will show the full week of possible booking and a few hotel choices, once you select the correct dates and Residence Inn, you will see the nightly rate of $239.
I heard that LeadMN has scholarships available, tell me more! LeadMN understands that while the DC Summit is an amazing opportunity it also comes with a big price tag. To try and assist, LeadMN is now offering a total of $5,000 in scholarship funds. Any two-year institution within the MinnState system can apply for up to $1,000 in funds to support getting their student(s) to DC. These funds will also be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis provided the school supplies adequate information about why the funds are needed and why their students want to attend. ***As of Jan. 13th all scholarship funds have been allocated
