Call for workshop facilitators
Call for Workshop Proposals: LeadMN Alumni Facilitators
LeadMN is inviting alumni to design and lead workshops for upcoming statewide student leadership events. We are looking for thoughtful, practical sessions that build skills, spark ideas, and give student leaders tools they can actually use once they leave the room.
Selected facilitators will receive an honorarium of $150 to $250 per workshop based on length, format, and preparation needs.
Event Opportunities
You may submit for one or more of the following:
- Leadership Training | 3rd week in August, 2026
- Fall General Assembly | November 13-14, 2026, in St. Cloud, MN
- Spring General Assembly | early April, 2027
Workshop Types
We welcome both skills-based and issue-based sessions. Strong proposals often fall into one of these categories:
Skills-based examples
- Communication and public speaking
- Advocacy tactics
- Conflict navigation
- Time management and burnout prevention
- Running effective meetings
- Coalition building
- Career readiness or professional development
Issue-based examples
- Higher education policy
- Equity and access in college systems
- Student basic needs
- Civic engagement
- Campus organizing strategies
- Affordability and financial aid

Workshop Details
Session Length
Typical sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. Interactive formats are strongly preferred over lecture style.
Proposal Deadline
Submit your proposal at least three months before the event you want to present at. Earlier submissions get priority review and feedback.
Who can apply?
Any LeadMN alumni with experience, insight, or a strong lesson to share. First-time presenters are welcome. Passion plus preparation beats perfection.
Proposal should include
- Name and contact info
- Workshop title
- 2 to 3 sentence description
- Learning outcomes
- Intended audience level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
- Preferred event and availability
- Brief summary of relevant experience
Selection criteria
We review proposals based on relevance to student leaders, clarity of learning goals, interactive design, and facilitator readiness.
