Pregnant and Parenting Student Scholarship
Being a student and a parent is a powerful act of perseverance. The Pregnant and Parenting Student Scholarship supports two-year college students who are balancing their education with the responsibilities of raising or expecting children. This scholarship helps reduce financial stress by covering education-related expenses – such as tuition, childcare, transportation, and emergency needs – so students can stay focused on achieving their goals.
This scholarship awards 40 $1,500 scholarships for the 2026 fall semester. Application deadline April 1, 2026 at 11:59pm.
Scholarship Qualifications
- Students currently enrolled full- or part-time at a Minnesota State two-year college in any program
- Students who are pregnant, parenting, or serving as primary caregivers (including fathers, adoptive parents, and guardians), and can demonstrate financial need.
Scholarship Requirements
- Complete and submit the online application by July 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM
- Proof of current enrollment at a Minnesota State two-year college
- Short essay (300-500 words) describing how this scholarship will support you as a student who is pregnant or parenting. This may include how it will help you manage financial needs, childcare costs, academic supports, or time to focus on your studies. Please write your response as a paragraph-style essay rather than a bulleted list.
Support and Resources
Recipients will also receive information about campus and community resources for childcare, health, and wellbeing. Materials will be available in multiple languages, and interpreter services can be arranged as needed, email if you need interpreter assistance in applying for the scholarship. Interpreter services must be requested by March 1, 2026.
