About the Annual Awards

Each year, LeadMN rewards students and advisors for the work they do on their campuses and their impact on students. Nominations are open from December through early March and are submitted through Google Forms.

Nominations are open to all two-year students and college staff/ advisors, with the exception of LeadMN Board Member of the Year and Certificate Scholar of the Year, which have specific nomination requirements. 

Winners are announced at our Spring General Assembly and presented with a desk plaque.

Awards & Descriptions

Student Leader of the Year
The Student Leader of the Year is a student who has demonstrated extraordinary capability in leadership. Through their leadership, they guide the way for their peers, enabling growth, developing skills, and creating a space in which others flourish. Nominate a student leader!

Student Changemaker of the Year
The Student Changemaker of the Year is a student who has demonstrated exemplary dedication to making positive change on their campus or in their community. Through volunteering, organizing, and/or coalition building, this student has made an impact that improves the lives of those around them. Nominate a student changemaker!

Advisor of the Year
The Advisor of the Year is an advisor that students have recognized as displaying extraordinary mentorship. Through the work of this advisor, students have been encouraged and enabled to grow and develop, making contributions to their college community and to the larger world around them. Nominate an advisor!

LeadMN Board Member of the Year
The Board Member of the Year is a member of the LeadMN Board of Directors that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to serving students through representation. The contributions of this Board Member have gone above and beyond in supporting LeadMN to serve students at the regional and state levels.

Please note: Nominations for Board Member of the Year are only accepted from the region that board member represents, as well as LeadMN Executive Board and Board Members. Nominate your board member!

Certificate Scholar Award
The Certificate Scholar Award recognizes the student who showcases a desire to continuously learn and demonstrates effort and excellence in completing the LeadMN Certificate Program through courses and tracks completed and high-quality work in their assignments.

Nominations are open!

Nominations open December 1st and close March 1st at 12pm. Please submit nominations for each award separately using the forms below. Only one nomination, per student, per award. You can nominate one person for each award, but can’t nominate two people for one award. If you need accommodations or need to submit a nomination verbally, please contact LeadMN at 651-297-5877.
