May is a change maker who has always been committed to empowering historically underrepresented and underserved communities. She enjoys bringing people together on causes that they themselves identify as critical to their well-being and working towards sustainable solutions. Prior to LeadMN, May worked as a researcher on multiple projects focused on closing the opportunity gap in Minnesota and advancing racial equity in higher education. She also collaborated with students and communities of color on local digital storytelling projects. At LeadMN, May strategic advocacy campaigns focused on eliminating barriers to student success with a keen focus on underrepresented students. She also works on equity-centered policy and leadership development. 

Outside of work May is a nature enthusiast and enjoys living a cruelty-free lifestyle. She has an exorbitant amount of plants and is always down for a round of karaoke. If there’s fact you must know about May it’s that she absolutely loves rabbits and has three bunnies of her own
