As the Manager of Equity and Inclusion, May is devoted to advocating for and fostering inclusive spaces for all to thrive. She takes a critical and intersectional approach to higher education and diversifying student leadership. May is committed to ensuring that the needs and lived experiences of underrepresented students are identified and honored to serve as the basis for driving systemic change and ending educational disparities.
Prior to joining MSCSA, May worked as a researcher focused on increasing opportunity and access for underrepresented students. She has worked on closing the opportunity gap in Minnesota and advancing racial equity in higher education. May also collaborated with students and communities of color on local digital storytelling projects in her former role as a media specialist.
Outside of work, May enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with her two rabbits. May is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where she earned a M.A. in Organizational Leadership and Policy Development, a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies, and a B.S. in Business Marketing.
