It is cold outside and many of us may want to hibernate, but we have important work to do. Right now our futures are up for debate in the halls of congress and at the Minnesota State Legislature. It is time to make student voices heard so college affordability is not put on the back burner. That is why this year, LeadMN is launching the first ever Vote 2018 Caucus Competition.

You make a difference

This January each region will work together to educate and pledge 400 students in their region to caucus. Caucuses give us the opportunity to make sure candidates who support Minnesota community and technical college students end up on the ballot for governor, state house and senate, and U.S. senate. Your hard work will help the fight for college affordability at every level of government because it will show legislators that students pay attention, vote, and participate in our democracy.

Fabulous prizes

Not only will you make a huge difference in your community, but also during this competition you have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes.

  • Each region that pledges 400 students to caucus will receive a few commemorative LeadMN Vote 2018 sweatshirts.
  • The region that pledges the most students will win a special night of stage combat training at the Guthrie Theater on Monday evening during the Advocacy Day conference.

This winter instead of hibernating, warm up by working hard with your region to make sure students get out and caucus on February 6! If you have any questions please contact Vice President Cecilia Damian at vice@leadmn.org or Outreach Coordinator Samantha Beck at sbeck@leadmn.org.
