1. What degree or certificate program are you seeking?

Associates of applied science in accounting.

2. Please describe your previous student government or professional experience, and how it has prepared you for this position.

I originally got involved with student government on my campus in becoming the treasurer and parliamentarian for my senate. While in that position I learned the power of the ability we have to impact our peers as civil service leaders. I also became aware of some the complexities that make tracking and funding various constituents tricky. This past year I became president and governing council representative, this given me a look at what it means to be a leader who's every decision has impact.

3. Why are you running for this position?

I am running first of all to bring my energy and charisma to the cabinet. I look forward to growing with a strong team, so that we can be a strong face for the organization. I also look to analyze policy and procedure for different elements of the organization and try to update them to be as equitable yet transparent as possible. Long story short I look to do the treasurers job, and take a look at some things that could add transparency for constituents and/or make the next treasurers job easier

4. What challenges do you see facing Minnesota's community and technical college students?

Obviously the devastation of the pandemic. Students are struggling to make ends meet. Students are stressed about being all online. Students are demotivated because community college has lost it's community feel. Students want to learn in a classroom , or go to concerts, or study together all while feeling safe enough to do so . And the pandemic as inhibited our ability to do so. So definitely trying to rebuild that sense of community and comradery as we integrate back to in person.
