Jocelyn Roof graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology. As a student, she founded her campus's nonpartisan voter engagement initiative "Hawk the Vote," registering over 5000 voters and coordinating GOTV efforts in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 election cycles. She also worked on several applied research projects at the UI Public Policy Center to advance racial equity in local K-12 schools, expand statewide civics education requirements, and demonstrate the value of community engaged coursework in growing college students’ investment in civic and political participation. Through these experiences, she developed a genuine love for getting others excited about being involved in politics and serving in their communities.
Jocelyn is excited to join the LeadMN team as Communications Coordinator, and looks forward to uplifting the great work of student leaders from across the state. She hopes to create content that will empower students and inspire them to be change agents and advocates in their communities and on their campuses.
In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys biking around the Twin Cities to various coffee shops and breweries, petting her cat Maggie, and spending time with family and friends.
