On Friday, December 1, 2017, LeadMN students participated in a Race Matters workshop presented by Malissa Adams of Stanton Adams Consulting, LLC. In the workshop, students learned about the cycle of socialization and the ways people are taught to view race in a way that often oppresses people of color. Students examined how race is portrayed in the media, discussed generational trauma, and ideas for advancing racial equity. The workshop concluded with a discussion on the role that race plays in the lives of students.
