Twenty students from the Minnesota State colleges and universities were nominated for the Mark M. Welter World Citizen Award. Each student will receive a $500 award.

With the election less than two weeks away, our attention will quickly turn to the upcoming legislative session and how that will impact students access to quality affordable education in Minnesota. This conversation comes at a time when students are facing unprecedented challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We ask that the Board of Trustees makes decisions with a sense of empathy and urgency.

During the fifth special legislative session of the year the Minnesota House of Representatives and the Minnesota Senate passed a $1.9 billion bonding bill, the largest in state history. Included was $90 million for Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement and projects at Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
