Congratulations to the sixteen Minnesota State students who were selected to receive a LeadMN scholarship for the 2019 fall semester! Scholarships amounting to $13,250 were awarded. As is seen, many different degrees are being pursued.
Today the Minnesota State Board of Trustees voted to raise tuition by $65 million for Minnesota college and university students, the maximum allowed by the Minnesota legislature and governor. With some of the highest tuition in the country for community and technical college students, this tuition increase will cause enrollment to continue to spiral downward making the budget situation worse for colleges across the state.
President Becerra shared a letter with conference committee members outlining LeadMN’s support for Hunger Free Campuses, z-degrees, open educational resources, and a variety of other issues contained in the House and Senate omnibus bills.
