Meet Our New Staff!
We are very excited to have three new staff members joining our LeadMN team!
Oscar Corral (left) will be taking over as Outreach Coordinator. Oscar is looking forward to using his passion for community organizing, social and racial justice, and student empowerment to bring education to all students.
Carissa Benson (middle) is our new Communication Coordinator. She comes from the Minnesota State Senate where she enjoyed diving into new media strategies that she hopes can be applied to advocating for students.
Sergio Aguilar (right) has focused on diversity and inclusion, helping with recruitment and retention for underrepresented students at Minnesota State Uni. He hopes to bring his experience to LeadMN and continue to better the experiences of students.

Tuition Increases - Coming to a Campus Near You?
In June, the Minnesota State Board of Trustees reversed six years of tuition increases and approved a three percent tuition increase in both the 2019 and 2020 academic years. The student representatives on the Board, student leadership and LeadMN and Students United all opposed the increase. Student Trustees proposed a lower tuition increase to help maintain college affordability, but this proposal was strongly rejected by the rest of the Board of Trustees. With these tuition increases, Minnesota State community and technical colleges will likely be back among the top five most expensive in the nation after having fallen to the eighth highest last year.
