As fall semester fast approaches, now is the time to consider serving on a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) shared governance committee. Established to advise the Minnesota State Board of Trustees, shared governance committees bring together system, faculty, and student stakeholders to provide input on policies and practices overseen by the Minnesota State system.

This year, Minnesota State has overhauled its committee offerings to address new challenges faced by the system. One new addition is that of the Transfer Governance Committee, which will oversee Minnesota State’s Transfer Pathways program as it moves away from its pilot phase and into full implementation. Other committees include Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Equity & Inclusion, and Developmental Education.
