roofTell us about your work experience and educational background.

I recently graduated from the University of Iowa, where I earned a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology. I dabbled in a bit of everything during my undergrad, from supporting new students as an orientation staff member and resident assistant to chairing the governmental relations committee in our student government and founding our campus’s nonpartisan voter engagement initiative. I also worked as a research fellow at the UI Public Policy Center’s Social and Education Policy Research program and was a teaching assistant for the university’s recreational bicycling course. Through my experiences, I found joy in supporting fellow students and creating a sense of belonging and importance through leadership and advocacy.

What interested you in working for LeadMN and what project are you looking forward to working on?

I truly believe in the power of student voices in driving policy change, and I knew I wanted to work somewhere that shared that value. LeadMN’s emphasis on making advocacy and leadership accessible to everyone and centering student perspectives really energizes and excites me. I am looking forward to exploring new ways of connecting digitally to students through social media, videos, and other media forms, and hope to expand our online presence in ways that feel meaningful and useful.

What interests do you have outside of work?

In my free time, I enjoy biking around the Twin Cities to coffee shops and breweries and hanging out with my cat Maggie. I also love reading political memoirs, watching travel shows, and frequenting local trivia nights with friends (where I answer most questions wrong, but almost always win a prize for good penmanship).
