TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.

I graduated with my B.A. in Sociology from Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa, CA, and am currently a student at Hennepin Tech, studying Graphic and Web Design. During my college years at VUSC I was involved with Students for Social Action and the Center for Hispanic Leadership. After graduation, I served in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica, where I worked on a variety of youth development projects including sexual health education, leadership development camps, and after school arts programs. When my Peace Corps service came to an end, I moved to Minnesota to join GreenCorps, an AmeriCorps program that aims to preserve and protect Minnesota’s environment. This led to an interest in food systems, where for a number of years I had the opportunity to work as a marketing manager with local farmers, food shelves, and mobile grocery programs.

WHAT INTERESTED YOU IN WORKING FOR LEADMN AND WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING ON?

Things are a lot different than when I attended college in the early 2000’s. I continue to be inspired by this new generation of college students - their passion for inclusivity and change. I’m most excited to hear and share their stories and experiences as inspiration for community-led change.

WHAT INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I enjoy paddle boarding, biking, gardening, and adventuring with my partner and dog. I am a bookworm; always looking for the next best Sci-Fi story and love a good murdery mystery podcast.
