We’ll focus on how to make college accessible and affordable by doubling the Pell Grant, addressing students basic needs, making textbooks affordable.

Higher Education Policy Briefing
We will discuss the opportunities for higher education policy reform in the short- and long-term.
Legislative Training Game
This game will prepare you for meetings with members of Congress and staff by developing a game plan for your meetings. Teams will review the federal legislative agenda and craft stories to advocate for policy change
Creating a Story for Change
Our stories are our most powerful tool. A story has the power to change hearts and minds. During the personal story roundtable you will learn how to effectively tell your personal story to create positive change in your community.
Panel Discussion – Preparing for the Hill
These experts will share tips and techniques on how to hold an effective meeting with a member of Congress or staff member on the hill.
Meetings with Congressional Office
Talk with members of Congress and staffers about the importance of higher education.
Celebrating the 26th
We will host a celebration of the 26th Amendment to the US Constitution which lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 for all elections.
Senate Immersion Module - Green New Deal
Attendees will participate in a simulated U.S. Senate session and a live floor debate on Green New Deal.
Writing a Letter to the Editor
Attendees will build on storytelling and advocacy strategies to undertake an important earned media strategy, submitting a letter to the editor
