Oscar Corral is a former first-generation Latinx student. He started his college career at Inver Hills Community College before transferring and graduating from Augsburg University with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. Oscar is passionate about community organizing, social and racial justice, and empowering students to be their best. As a person of color, he is dedicated to advocating for those who cannot, especially in the field of education. He realizes that students of color deserve the right to equal access to affordable education just like everyone else. Education is a key component in how Oscar wants to make a difference in our communities. In the past, he worked with organizations like Unidos MN, who gave him the tools necessary to set in motion his passion to tackle the variety of issues that our diverse communities of students face today. Now with LeadMN, he believes it will allow him to explore and develop more tools to continue serving students in our technical and community colleges.
Outside of work, Oscar loves to do activism and organizing work, hang out with friends, play video games, watch anime, and enjoy long afternoons laying down with his cat, Mushin.
