Sergio Aguilar started his journey at Normandale Community College before transferring to Minnesota State University, Mankato where he received a BA in Psychology and later an MS in Educational Leadership. During grad school, Sergio quickly found his passion for higher education work while working as a Graduate Assistant for Diversity & Inclusion, helping with their recruitment and retention strategies for underrepresented students. He later became a Recruitment & Retention Advisor, Interim Director of OASIS, and later served as Director of Latinx Affairs for the department. Sergio believes that all people should have the right to a quality and affordable education. Community colleges provide this opportunity and he looks forward to making changes that will positively impact all students.
In his free time, Sergio enjoys spending time with his wife, Kari, friends, and family, and cheering on the mighty Loons at their new Allianz Stadium.
