At LeadMN we host several Student Leadership Conferences at Minnesota State campuses as well as the Minnesota Student Leadership Summit every fall and General Assembly every spring. Each conference has a selection of workshops within the scope of Leadership Development, Equity and Inclusion, Advocacy, and Professional Advancement.

Leadership Development —Topics may include Team Building, Building Effective Relationships, Conflict Resolution, or How to Lead Meetings

Equity and Inclusion — Topics may include Being an Ally in the Work of Equity and Inclusion, Leadership in the Context of Equity and Inclusion, Communicating on Issues of Equity and Inclusion, or Facilitating Challenging Conversation.

Advocacy — Topics may include Legislative Training, Policy Training, or Get Out The Vote Training.

Professional Advancement — Topics may include Networking, Resume Writing, Interview Skills, or Financial Aid.

All workshops should help meet at least one of the following outcomes: 

  • Self-care; 
  • Confidence; 
  • Change Management; 
  • Emotional Intelligence; 
  • Understands the intersection of identity, systems, organizations, and community in relationship to self and leadership; 
  • Self Reflection; and 
  • Understands the importance of storytelling and elements of a good personal story.
